Where We Train - Southern Africa

Global Horizons partners with Hope College in Zambia, Southern Africa.  Hope College specialises in courses for church leaders who are already in active ministry. It welcomes men and women from a wide variety of church backgrounds and offers both a Diploma and Certificate Programme in theology.

The Diploma Programme is a two-year course, which requires attendance at 18 weeks of residential seminars each year and a completion of a total of 44 courses. It involves over 1300 hours of classroom and self-study time and gives access to the College library and training in computer skills; including learning how to use the internet for study. The current programme has 24 students from three countries, 17 tribes and a wide variety of church backgrounds.

The Certificate Programme requires attendance at 24 days of teaching and completion of 24 courses of study. It is currently being expanded from a Saturday school in Lusaka to residential courses in other parts of Zambia. Currently 80 church leaders are registered for Certificate Programmes run by Hope College.

Invitations to take both the Certificate and Diploma Programmes to new areas are coming in from across Southern and Central Africa. There are thousands of churches across these regions being led by men and women who have no access to training. Global Horizons is helping Hope College give these leaders the opportunity to be properly trained by providing access to sound teaching in biblical doctrine, ministry, leadership and practical studies.
