Course Structure

The course is comprised of six modules and a dissertation. The six modules are studied over two years, establishing a theoretical base, acquisition of key skills, as well as a critical engagement of missional leadership. In the third and final year students complete a dissertation on a subject of their own choice related to the themes of the course. Students are supplied with comprehensive Learning Packs for each topic on the course. Work with these packs is supported by regular engagement with a Regional Study Network (RSN) – local study groups comprised of fellow students, who meet to review, discuss and enhance their learning guided by a tutor. Students are also given access to a range of materials on our Online Virtual Learning Environment including video tutorials and theological journals.

Assignments

The course is assessed by six essays (4,000 words); one essay per module. Each essay is accompanied by a reflective exercise based on a student journal (1,000 words). In their final year students submit a dissertation proposal (1,000-1,500 words) before undertaking a final dissertation of 12,000 – 14,000 words.
